Welcome to Santa Cruz Dance Guild
We are delighted to announce the Santa Cruz Dance Guild has officially been granted 501(c)(3) non-profit status by the IRS and the State of California, as of November 17th, 2016. The SCDG has produced the Nutcracker at Cabrillo’s Crocker Theater since 2012. The Guild continues to be housed at International Academy of Dance.
Upon recognition as a 501(c)(3), the SCDG is now open to receive fully tax deductible donations under IRC Section 170 and also qualified (qualifies) to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522. EIN: 45-4713619
The Guild has offered over a hundred scholarships to students since 2012, including Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) families and children of the Rebele Family Shelter, in addition to numerous children and adults with financial need. SCDG holds firmly that learning to dance and sharing the joy of performance should be available to everyone regardless of financial ability.
Dance is more than dance…we work together, we learn together, we overcome limitations, we set goals, we aspire, we dream, we achieve, we create unity, we create friendships, we experience freedom, and share our JOY! The discipline, art, and creation of dance is part of the rhythm and celebration of life itself and enables us to ascend to a higher path.
As of January 19th, 2017, the SCDG has expanded it’s vision to include two distinct dance companies offering outreach and expanded performing opportunities.
Santa Cruz City Ballet
Sóul Contemporary Dance
Lyrical, Modern, Hip-Hop & Tap Company
